Blackbeard's Imaging ("we," "us," "our") operates this Design Studio website
(the "Site"), including under our Blackbeard's, Graveyard Shift, and
Bootleggers product lines. This page explains what information we
collect when you use the Site, why we collect it, and who we share it
with.
We're a small, Maryland-based print shop, not a large company with
a dedicated legal or privacy team — this policy is written in plain
language to accurately describe what actually happens with your
information, not to be exhaustive legal boilerplate.
Information we collect
- Order information: name, email address, phone
number, and shipping address, so we can fulfill and ship your
order and contact you about it.
- Payment information: your card details are
entered directly into a secure payment form provided by our
third-party payment processor. We never see or store your full
card number — the processor handles that.
- Designs and prompts: if you generate a design
with AI, we collect the text prompt you enter and, if you use the
"Remix My Photo" option, the photo you upload. If you upload your
own finished artwork instead, we collect that file.
- Account information: if you create an
account, we collect the email and password (or the linked
third-party account) you sign in with, plus a record of your past
orders so you can view them again.
- Site usage: like most websites, we use a
third-party analytics tool to see general traffic patterns (pages
visited, roughly how many people visit, that kind of thing) — not
to build individual profiles of visitors.
How we use your information
- To process and fulfill your order, including sending it to
production and shipping
- To send you order-related emails: confirmations, shipping
updates, a copy of an AI design you just generated, and a review
request after your order arrives
- If you start an order but don't finish it, we may send you one
reminder email — we do this because you provided your email as
part of that in-progress order, not for general marketing
- To prevent abuse of our free AI-generation feature (for
example, limiting how many free designs one email address can
generate)
- To keep basic business records, as any retailer needs to for
accounting and tax purposes
Who we share information with
We don't sell your information. We do share it with the outside
services that make the Site work — each one only gets what it needs
to do its specific job, and we vet each one for how it handles data
before using it:
- Payment processing: a third-party payment
processor handles your card details and processes your payment —
we never see or store your full card number ourselves
- Order fulfillment: a third-party print and
shipping partner receives your shipping address and design file to
print and ship your order
- AI design generation: a third-party AI
provider receives your text prompt (and uploaded photo, for a
remix) to generate your design, and screens prompts for disallowed
content
- Sign-in and site tools: third-party services
provide account sign-in, spam/bot protection, and site traffic
analytics
- Image-hosting and background-removal tools we use behind the
scenes to process and store your generated design
We don't hand your information to anyone beyond what's needed to
fulfill your order or run the Site.
Cookies
The Site uses cookies and similar technology for: staying signed
in to your account, third-party traffic reporting, and third-party
bot-detection. These are standard, common tools — we don't use
cookies for third-party ad targeting.
How long we keep information
Order records are kept indefinitely as part of our normal business
records, the same as any retailer keeps a sales history. Free
AI-generation usage tracking (used only to enforce the free-design
limit) automatically clears itself after a rolling 30-day period.
Your choices
You can ask us to see what information we have on file for you, or
ask us to delete it, by contacting us using the information below.
Since we're a small operation, this is handled personally rather
than through an automated system — we'll get back to you.
Children's privacy
This Site is intended for adults placing custom print orders and
isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information
from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page
and change the date at the top.
